Hello all, I hope you can help me out here. I have a DFI k6bv3+ mb which doesn't want to recognize my Seagate 80 gb. I have looked at DFI's site, and have downloaded a beta bios which was supposed to enable support for HDDs over 65 Gb. Problem is, it is for rev. A, and I have a nagging feeling my board is an A+. At least, AWDFLASH says it's not compatible.

Now, then. Should I force the bios update (with Uniflash), hoping things will turn out alright, or do any of you have a better suggestion?

This is my bios id string:
05/03-99-(k6bv3+)-CD-2A5LED4KC-00

Thanks in advance,

Likif

You get the warning from Awdflash because the new BIOS has different ID string:
01/15/2001-VP3-586B-CD-2A5LED4DC-00
There's only one version of this board (according to DFI pages). Try asking at their techsupport but it should be OK.

Thanks a lot!

Very helpful site. I ran across a lot of paysites before I discovered this one. Anyway, I have mailed DFI just to make sure everything's ok with the beta bios.

cheers
