I have a FoxConn K7S741GXMG-6L

was having a few issues so downloded the latest BIOS and flashed it

now when I start up I can see the POST screen and then it shut downs automatically

some instances I can go into the BIOS and be in in for a minute then it shut downs

the longest length of time the machine stays up without shutting down has been 3 minutes

As the machine boots up and recognises all devices, cpu and RAM cant be the BIOS

any help much appreciated

Not sure if it,s related to your situation, but a system I had a few years
back would do te same thing if I let it monitor the cpu temperatures, & had
it set in the bios where it would shutdown to avoid the cpu cooking if it
detected the temp getting too hot, by default it was disabled in the bios,
but became a problem, & would continually shutdown when cpu temp
monitoring was enabled in the bios...
Again, it may not be your problem, but something to look at...

thanks for info, I will check that .. so you recommend disabled the auto shutdown in BIOS due to temp.

Yeah...
Somewhere in your bios setup screen, you'll see a menu entry on the
main setup screen that says something like "hardware monitoring"
Just pop into that screen & see if the cpu shutdown temp is disabled to
rule that out as being the cause...

this option was disabled in the BIOS

I have changed the PSU as well to a good known working one and still get the same problem.
