I flashed my PCCHIPS  mobo by preparing a floppy disk and flashing with supposedly the correct file from their website. Now my mobo goes by POST fine except for this error message:

FDC Failure
Press F1 to Resume

I can press F1 and it will continue but the keyboard hangs during Win 2K boot up so I can't log in.
I've tried re-downloading the flash file and flashing from an old hard drive (Since bios can't see the floppy drive) and it seems to update fine but I get exactly the same thing as before.
My mobo serial is:
51-0305-001437-00101111-071595-M571

Thanks for reading.

There are more versions of M571 board. You flashed the wrong BIOS. Check the version of your board printed near the keyboard connector and get correct BIOS from ajzchips' page http://go.to/ajz

Thanks for the reply Rainbow.
I had checked my mobo revision (Ver 3.2A)
but I went to the site you mentioned and downloaded it from there and guess what?

FDC Failure
Press F1 to Resume

:(

Is it possible the first flash I used has somehow damaged or over written something it shouldn't?

Have you tried both 571_V32(A)_Bios_19990514S_AMI.zip and 571_V32(A)_Bios_20020201S_Beta_AMI.zip? Have you cleared CMOS after flashing?

In actual fact neither. I had resorted to using the 571lmr update as I thought this must have been the file you meant since both of the 571 v3.2a files are password protected.

Should I be able to access these files?

The files aren't password protected. The server(s) where they're located resort to the "password" query only when they're over the daily banwidth usage limit.
There are 4 servers randomly accessed when you go to http://go.to/ajz , so it's just a matter of retrying, or waiting till the next day.

Oh my god!!!

Rainbow your a saviour!

I managed to get the files after a little perseverence (Many thanks to http://go.to/ajz )
and the beta works fine, I have my server back.
What's a little worrying is that it was an official file from the PCCHIPS webstie that caused the problem.
So, if your reading this and your looking to upgrade your BIOS. Give the manufacturers website a miss and

Thanks Rainbow :D

PC Chips official support is bad - that's why ajzchips pages and PC Chips Lottery http://go.to/th2 exist.
