BIOS number is 2A6LFI2CC-00
it is mounted in polish PC by OPTIMUS
it don't recognize HDD 40 GB
40GB: 2A6LFI2CC-00
Is there a message in the top left of the screen under the "Award" copyright message ?
Don't worry if it isn't in the same format as this Iwill one.
Is it the same format as this :
xx/xx/xxxx-691-596-W877-2A6LFI2CC-00 ?
A Google search for 2A6LFI2CC says this string was for FIC, possibly KA-6100 (Wim's BIOS main site, Manufacturers/FIC) or 6130 (Edwin/"evasive" at Motherboards.org).
We need more information - is there anything written on the board e.g. 6100 or 6130 ? like in this picture

OK, if your board is the 6100, the latest BIOS and flash utilities are at the FIC website, at http://www.fic.com.tw/techsupport/bios/ ... 0_bios.htm. You need to know whether your board is PCB version 1.1 or 1.2 as the Nov 18th 1998 BIOS does not say it supports 1.1.
When you boot, on the screen that shows the memory count and the Award EPA logo, there will be a message at the bottom of the screen like
"11/09/1998-691-596-W877-2A6LFI2CC-00".
What is this message on your motherboard?
Near the top of the screen there will be a message like
"Version 1.1eI".
What is this message on your motherboard?
The BIOSes at the site will not support 40 Gb disks. We could patch one of these BIOSes to fix this, but we need to know which one. I have already patched the latest (PCB 1.2) version.

That is confusing.
It sounds as though your board could be 1.2, but it may be safer to stay with the 1.1DI version you already have, patched to support a bigger hard disk.
Would you like version 1.1GI patched ?
{correction} That should read

OK. Did you check for a version number on the board ?
Q: How do I know what PCB is my motherboard?
A: Check the corner of the board, nearest to ISA (or PCI) expansion slots, look for a number with a dot (.), e.g. 1.4.
