Hi,
Since I too have the problem at subject, I read a related thread
http://www.wimsbios.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=36
and also what's specified in the collected wisdom by soupy (in fact I'll end up reinstalling XP with the modified txtsetup.sif).

Besides that what I wonder though is if there is a patched bios for my motherboard MS-6199VA that fixes the problem (since I already have the latest official bios release (3.5) by Microstar that does not address the issue).

Here are my computer specs:
BIOS Date: 01/01/00
BIOS Type: Award Modular BIOS v4.51PG
BIOS ID: 01/01/2000-692-596-W977-2A6LGM4EC
OEM Sign-On: W6199VMS V3.5 100200
Chipset: VIA 82C693A + 82C596B
OS: WinXP
CPU: Pentium® III (0.18 µm) With 256 KB On-Die L2 Cache 999 MHz
Memory Installed: 255 MB

Any help is appreciated.
Thanks

None of the patchers we use solves ACPI issues.

Thanks for your reply. Are there any patches for my bios that solve other problems? Sisoft Sandra reports poor performances. I tried WPCREDIT to tweak, I sped the system up but it would either freeze or go to BSOD.

thank you.
