I did the same several years ago! Luckily, the machine was under warranty at that time. The vendor replace the motherboard for me. The machine is the one I'm using to type this message now. Anyway, you may try forcing boot block to execute by shorting the 2 high address pins of the BIOS chip. I do n...

256k expand to 512k

I want to have the other way round! I have a FIC VG31 OEM for HP. The BIOS chip was soldered on the board. It is a 4MB (512k) chip. I am quite sure that the M/B is the same as the boxed version. I want to flash the BIOS provided by FIC as it would offer more options. However, the BIOS is 2MB (256k) ...

Yes, I got a nForce2 m/b and flashed successfully. I realized that LPC and FWH chips need matching m/b.

How did you get the original Tiny BIOS? I had the same case with you except my M/B is MS-6178.

I got the same M/B. I tried to flash a Award BIOS into it and it died. I guessed the boot block had been corrupted. But the 82802 (FWH) do sit in a socket. I want to know if I can take the FWH out and put it in a socket A's M/B and flash the correct code and return.
