I have newly purchased PQI 2x512mb sticks. when installed together I get BSOD after couple of minutes. I tested the memory individually and they are good. Is there any bios update for P4s-LA Asus motherboard.
My PC config is
HP Pavilion 750 CTO, DDR266, PC2100, two memory slots for 2gb maximum
Board: ASUSTeK Computer INC. P4S-LA REV 1.xx
Bus Clock: 100 megahertz
BIOS: Award Software, Inc. 3.04 02/09/2002
Thank you.
1Gb (2x512mb) ram gives BSOD on HP pavilion 750
please get memtest86+ here: http://www.memtest.org/
and check your ram. make sure that the ram isn't overclocked and uses the spd settings (there are options in the bios that control those features).

I cannot do changes in bios as its a OEM bios P4S-LA. I did a memtest86 after several cycles its just gets frozen.cp wrote:please get memtest86+ here: http://www.memtest.org/

I feared that my query got unnoticed being in a wrong thread.KachiWachi wrote:You should have stayed with your original thread on this issue...since this is related.
Thanks.

Nah...probably not.
Since I'm "The New Guy", I would have moved it, but I don't know all of the policies concerning this...yet.
Anyone care to share?
Thanks.
