1. BIOS problem - try with another bios.
2. Memory problem - try another memory-stick.

1) I'm running the latest BIOS.

2) Yeah...I could try that, if I had some larger sticks at my disposal. Unfortunately that isn't the case. :(

It still doesn't explain why the stick is recognized with others but not on it's own...

1. BIOS problem - try with another bios.
Try ANOTHER bios. To example - from this manufacturer, other models on like chipsets. Or another manufacturers. Best is - Acorp, PCPartner (on this chipset), Chaintech.

for its worth ,ap133 /693a mobo did not accept any of the ecc256 mb ram
nor 3 x 128mb ecc ram (only posted once with 384) on default bus speeds
but runs fine @150 fsb with 128mb ea in slot 1 and 3 with (256)cas 2-2-2 timings on compaq pc100 ecc ram 8O
i beleive the best via tech expert is george breeze,his software tools
are brilliant and i thouroughly reccomend his reads.
