Greetings,
My motherboard can't recognise the Kingston RAM 256 MB RAM, it only registers the RAM as 128 MB.
My motherboard is DFI PA61 and the RAM is KVR133X64C3/256 single side RAM.
Would appreciate if anyone can help.
Thanks.

Most likely you need double sided (16 chips) 256MB module, or two 128MB 8-chip modules.

Thanks, I know it can recognise single side 128 MB RAM as I am having one in the system currently.
I checked the Kingston website, the board actually supports 256 MB RAM.
Do you think updating the BIOS help?
Thanks.

If it's a Bios problem a new Bios should be able to cure that but not if it's a chipset limitationwinkill wrote:Got a doubt.
Can a bios patch make a board support ram that it dosnt support now?
i mean, is that possible?
