Ecs P6BAT-AP memory problems.

Is your memory not fully recognized? (Intel VX chipset Memory recognition)

I'm still waiting for an answer regarding the motherboard revision number of your P6BAT-A+ and what your alternative motherboard is/was.

I found a product page of your motherboard, it looks like board/Bios/chipset are limited to three modules and 384MB of memory.

Maybe a bug in their Bios ?!?

596B is the UDMA66-capable Southbridge. At least rev 2 of your board should have the 693A chipset. Don't know what rev 1.x has.

from here

Code: Select all

+ case 0x0691: /* VIA VT82C691 - Apollo PRO */
+ /* VIA VT82C693A - Apollo Pro133 (rev 40?) */
+ /* VIA VT82C694X - Apollo Pro133A (rev 8x,Cx)
far from being usable but this could be at least a start. there are no hints in the VIA datasheets how to determine which 0x0691 is which :(
