Is your memory not fully recognized? (Intel VX chipset Memory recognition)

Hi!

I have a Gigabyte GA-586TX3 (latest BIOS 2.1) with 430TX chipset and 3 DIMM slots and 2 SIMM slots.

The manual says I can install 256MB RAM (2 x 128MB SIMMs). Currently, I have one 256MB Dimm in the DIMM 1 slot installed, and the board functions great, even though the manual says it can only support 64MB DIMMs.

When I install another 128MB DIMM, it isn't recognized. Is this a hardware or a BIOS issue?

René
