I recently decided to upgrade my old pc133 ram to a full gig of pc2100.
I removed the pc133 and added the pc2100 after turning it on the it didnt work, the power went on but nothing would load.

I use,

American Trends Inc.
Model K7S5A

Is there anything that i can do?

One stick of one gig or two of 512MB each ?
One gig should not work but two 512 without problems. Please test each stick individually.
Sometime, while moving from SDR-SDRAM to DDR-SDRAM a clear CMOS was needed on this board.

Question : Why did you buy PC-2100 RAM but not PC-3200 ? (Fully backwards compatabile and faster timings than PC-2100)

I bought 512x2. I tried your advice by only installing one 512 stick after removing the old pc133 but still had no luck, the pc would not boot up.

Bios version ?
Old versions sometimes had problems wich SDR-DDR changeovers.
The K7S5A does not like NoNameRAM, especially in older Bios versions.

Does it still work with PC-133 ?
What kind of RAM did you buy ?
-> Manufacturer/chips used

ECC is the problem here - chipset does not work with ECC (server RAM)

Return memory to your dealer, get dtandard PC-2100, PC-2700 or, better, PC-3200.

BTW The Bios date is not Bios version or release date, it's the Ami Bios Core date (Bios kernel). Every ECs bios version should display a small string like K7S5A Bios 030326 or similar.

Everest Home should be able to display the ECS Bios release version.

Hey, your Palomino 2000+ is underclocked, you should use 133x2 FSB, not 100x2 FSB. In BIOS, there is a menu called CPU PnP Setup, you must set 133/133.
