Seems to be a Contec board, try to ask their support.
At least 64 MiB are gone for your OnBoard VGA, the other 512 MiB are lost somewhere. Either the module is damaged or not compatible with this chipset.

What is the brand and model of the sodimm you are using? Are you sure it is 1GB and not half of a 1GB kit of 512MB x2?

Hi,

I have also the same problem.

Only 448Mb is recognised from 1024Mb.

I've done some research on this mini PC BOX (BOX Computer).
Some say it's a Foxconn mainboard but than it seems to be an IPOX Technology board.

Foxconn invest in IPOX Technology
http://www.emsnow.com/newsarchives/arch ... m?ID=15898

The board: IPOX Technology 6A7L9IX9
IPOX call this boards IPC (Industrial PC).

These Boxes has beeing nown as models:

ICS-2100 (IPOX Technology) - (Foxconn)
ADE-2100 (Contec) - (ennoconn)
FTW-PCSYS2100 (PC-Tek)

My BIOS & Board:
07/31/2007 For FTW-PCSYS2100
07/31/2001-CX700-6A7L9IX9C-00
Chipset: VIA 82C324 rev 3
SuperIO: Winbond 697HF rev 2 at port 002E
Manufacturer: VIA Technologies, Inc.
Motherboard: CX700

ICS-2100 VIA V4 Bus Eden 1 GHz based Tiny Box PC

What causes the problem for seeing the whole 1024Mb of ram?

All information is welcome!!!

Ps. i see that the starter of this thread has a Bios from 2006.
I extract my Bios and attached with this post for the ones who like to have this 07/31/2007 version.

Best regards,
Vaako

CX700 chipset supports up to 2GB (1GB per DIMM).
http://www.via.com.tw/en/products/chips ... ies/cx700/

2 options:
1) one of the DIMMs is faulty
2) the internal organization of the DIMMs is not recognized by the CX700 controller.

@edwin

1) there is only room for one memory module, as the user manual discribes that 256, 512 and 1024mb DDR2 SODIMM is supported.
2) i also think that the problem is an incompability of the ram and memory controller CX700.

I'm gona buy another brand sodimm and hopes this works, i'll post my findings here.

Thanks for the help!

oh? according to the chipset spec sheet you can fit 2, so the other one is somewhere deep inside, most likely under the keyboard...

Hello,

In the mean time i have mailed many manufactures who sells these PCB's or use them as rebranded product, they never respond to any of my (serval) e-mails.

Today i received my memory i ordered at eBay and i can confirm that i have found a compatible 1024mb SoDimm memory for my ICS-2100 :D

Once your system is booted you do not have the fully 1024mb available since your integrated Video card use some of the 1024mb as video memory, in my case 128mb.
But you can change that in the BIOS.

The ICS-2100 as also nown as ADE-2100 & FTW-PCSYS2100 has only 1 SoDimm slot (there are NO two slots, also not on the otherside of the mainbaord) like some people like to believe.

These are the memory i have tested and are NOT compatible:
Hynix HYMP112S64CP6 (1024mb)
Unbranded: 0BHI2 D9LHN (1024mb)

These are working:
Unigen UG64T6400L8SU (512mb) (hynix chips)
Nanya NT1GT64U8HB0BN (1024mb) (16 chip double side)
Image
I especialy was looking for an module that has 16 sdram chips, 8 on each side and i think that every 1024mb module with 16 chips Sodimm wil work with this mainboard.

Finaly i can go further with my project :)

I hope this information is usefull for someone!!!

Thanks to all who wanted to help out!!!

Best regards,
Vaako
