Just an addition to further clarify the problem, when I open up My Computer, I do not see the cd-rom drive on the listings below.

Thanks a lot for all your help!

Cd-rom is still not working properly. I am able to insert a disk but the cd-rom will not read it. The problem actually shows, under the Device Manager, on the primary and secondary ultra ata controllers.

I am not quite sure what type of motherboard I got. But the computer itself is made from Micron with a P3 processor and an Award Bios. Although, I have not removed the entries.

My CD-ROM does not work

Hi! My CD-ROM is not working. I checked under Device Manager under Hard Disk Controllers and there was a yellow exclamation mark beside the Primary and Secondary Controllers.
