Did a bunch of things last night without any success. First reflashed latest bios - will try to find archived older versions to see if they make a difference (don't know if they are available). 1. Updated to the the most recent but I think it causes some problems with ACPI (not shutting down fans - power supply) and keeping it in S0 in standby instead of S1/2 - prior to the update (received the surplus machine last week) I think standby was working - so I'm looking to roll back.
