The missing vmm32.vxd is a windows driver. I don't know why HP would have told you to update the bios. All you needed was a 98 bootdisk and a 98 CD. There is a program on the bootdisk (can't remember what its called, search the help files) that will let you exctract files from you 98 CD and put them...

Bios Chip Help
Someone I work with gave me an old motherboard. I was board so i tried to tinker with it a little, but the board is missing the bios chip. I tried to call Procomp (The maker of the board), but they said they couldn't help. I don't know that much about bios chips, so I'm lost. Here's what I do know. ...

I know the original posts were a couple of months ago, but I want to thank you guys. I have an abit VP6 board, right now I only have one PIII 933 and a raid 0+1 setup. I tried to flash my bios to a new hacked version and being the novice that I am, I botched it. I was getting the same check sum erro...
