Hey I had exactly the same problem with Abit KT7 mobo, got another bios eprom from buddy of mine..... Tryed the hotswap....it boots up to Dos with the other chip.... I've used UNIFLASH to flash the bios in to the old chip (it's Winbond W29c020c-90b)....flash went succesfully....but...no go It wont b...
