Does the system hang at that point? Press the Caps lock or the NUM lock and if the LED's on the keyboard do not light up then it means your system is hung. If its hung, try removing your IDE/SATA cables and see if the system goes further.

If the system suddently shuts down, then its your CPU overheating. Take the heatsink off and ensure you have some thermal paste connecting the CPU and heatsink. Make sure its securely fastened and touching the CPU.

The fact that you are getting that message means BIOS is installed. BIOS initializes, CPU, memory and video. Without those things, you will not be getting any messages on the screen. Try this trick. Unplug all your IDE cables from all other drives except your CDROM. Then power the system on and enter BIOS setup. Check there to make sure it shows up.
