i believe the board can take it. If not I wont loose much when it burns, just an old mobo I can gamble with.
Others have done it you know

edwin, & a_user , what the heck ....!???! who said any thing about going to 200MHZ FSB. Remember it is a P1 mobo here. I only meant the multiplier (you know 3x, 4x, 5x etc). Of course byy replacing the bios I'd like to see an increase in FSB on my P1 mobo to at least 83 & 100 mhz ....not 200 mhz! Ri...

Riddle of a Dead CD drive but some times working!
I have these 2 CD-ROM drives that started acting up a "Drive D: NOT Accessible" routine in windows 98 & ME. The first is Creative iNFRA 48x , PNP (no driver is needed) The second is Cyber Drive 24x , DOS device driver both are internal, RECOGNIZED IN NAME/MODEL# BY THE BIOS, and hardly used. but not...

Re: Gigabyte BX-2000
well Gigabyte is good with customer support. All their mobos come with 3 year warranty. I am sure they will replace it for you if it cannot be fixed.
I had one WXM replaced last year after the sound chip failed .

I for one surly appreciate what you are doing, and thank you for the help. going back to the 2 mobos above, the first (TMC AI5TV) has the BIOS on a socket . Can I replace it with a better or customized bios (using chip programmer) , or even from another source. The purpose is to increase the clock m...

thx , i took a look just now , and they seem like normal Y splitters. As a matter of fact I have one USB->2 PS2 already but this is just a normal adapter. Infact if one connects 2 Kbs or 2 mice they both control the same cursor . What I am talking about is sort of a virtual Desktop splitter, where e...

Re: the stuff...
thx moonwolf
As you said, they are quite expensive for the sum of their parts. I have seen them in the local shops 2 years ago but the price was an overkill.
Of course we need a server/proggie to make it work. ???

Re: Odd problem
I had the same thing happening with a Gigabyte motherboard , except this one has VGA-AGP on board. Did you have a video chip on that mobo before you installed the new videoocard. The bios may get confused some times which video chip to use. On mine it does that some times when install MPEG cards usi...

thanks for the prompt reply!. now can these be fitted with a simple Super 7 or PPGA adapter on the Socket 7 PGA (i.e. like the one supplied with PowerLeap & Evergreen upgrades). I'd like to upgrade them myself because I already have the chips (k6-2 & Celeron). If those companies can provide socket u...

Re: Does this scsi hardrive work on my GA-6VXE7+ Motherboard
hired_goon Unless I am mistaken about the model number; I think that mobo you are referring to has RAID onboard. So if that is ture, you can get a regular EIDE hard drive supporting 100ATA speed & 7200 rpm . It will give you a similar performance from the HD with out messing with SCSI or paying extr...
