Does your laptop boot up? Because if it does your BIOS isn't dead. If it doesn't then a new BIOS chip would solve your problem, but only if for the same make and model. Also most laptops have the BIOS chip soldered to the mainboard. You might be betteroff looking for an independent laptop repair age...

Good day, I've a sony vaio laptop, vgn nr21s/s wich comes with a phoenix BIOS, R1150J9. I want to create a backup of this BIOS, just in case, as SONY haven't released the BIOS, or an update.
