Well I have some good news, I am typing this from my repaired HP nc4000 laptop! :-) I found someone who was able to remove the bios chip and fit a socket + new bios chip and this fortunately has restored my laptop to fully functional condition - it is such a relief! Well disaster has struck! After playing around with the ADDCC ver3 and the pdf Tutorial and ver2 Video Tutorial again I managed to seemingly update the BIN file with the ammended wireless n card details and adjust the CRC checksum so the ADDCC ver3 showed the patched file as matching the original fi...

Hi nando4, Thanks for your reply. I do get the error 104 message if I boot with the Atheros card already in the PC. On the other hand when doing the inserting the Atheros card from Windows Standby and coming out of standby I can confirm the wireless n card works ok. I have spent several hours playin...
