you need something like AFUDOS.exe instead of Awdflash.exe to flash update an AMI bios from a bootable usb flash drive

Awdflash is for Award bioses only

maybe ask someone in Intel Forums if attempting to do the bios recovery method doesn't work in fixing the boot block problem

btw, Intel S5520HCV is a server board

I think OP is saying that there's no video on POST or bootup and only hearing a spinning fan

more specifically, external usb based CD drives can only be connected to USB 2.0 or faster usb ports.
