Re: Seting the "booting time" by program (PC autobooting)
you can use port 70/71 to access the cmos. you can set the alarm to let the computer wakeup (but only if the bios is set to wakeup by alarm). useful information can be found here.

Re: Tips for hot flash bios
You need a mainboard with socketed bios, replacement bios chips, tweezers, a small screwdriver with flat blade and a bootmedium with an OS, a flasher and the bios file obviously. once the mainboard is showing the bios screen, you can remove the original bios chip, since it has been copied to RAM alr...

Re: Amiboot.rom
if nothing happens the following things could have happened: 1. mainboard doesn't boot because of other defects (cpu fried, mem faulty, psu faulty, damaged pcb) 2. fault floppy drive (cable twisted, dead drive) 3. bootblock of bios overwritten with garbage (this is where the emergency flash lives) a...

Re: Many questions for newbie
they all should work. look for 2M or 256kx8 PLCC32 5V chips. and make sure to use uniflash or flashrom to flash them. that's all.

Re: Many questions for newbie
The AT49F002T can be replaced by any other 256kB (2Mbit) 5V PLCC32 flash chip. just make sure to use Uniflash or Flashrom to program the chip. You can even hotswap it on another mainboard that supports 2Mbit chips.

Download CPU-Z and report back with its output.
The Intel drivers will install fine on your motherboard - just like on any other motherboard that uses an Intel chipset - because it uses an Intel chipset! It doesn't mean that Intel supplied anything else but the chipset for the motherboard.

Re: Amiboot.rom
the emergency flash works with all BIOS bootblocks that support it. ASRock is known to have this feature removed from their BIOSes because of space limitations. anyway, just put the BIOS to be flashed on a formatted floppy disk (yes, those 1,44MB disks), rename it to 'AMIBOOT.ROM'. If the bootblock ...

Re: Utility for reading bios pci card
flashrom supports a lot of pci cards.
but the oem of your pci hdd card should have a tool for updating, too.

Re: Can't get 1440x900 display on asus p4s533-mx sis651
This post says that the vbios is 2.30.01 after updating the BIOS from our site. And the BIOS has been there since 2008. To save you some trouble: Even with a new vbios only 1440x900 will work with the SiS windows drivers. Either switch to Linux or get an add-on VGA card without a SiS chipset at all.

Can you please connect a CDROM to the IDE port and boot a recent Linux installation medium (via USB, HDD, PXE, ...)

Re: Patched bios for SiS650 ?
as i wrote in my previous post already: Find the FIC bios HERE!
and as edwin already stated: when we patch the bios, the main LCD will stay blank and unusable. If you revert to the unpatched BIOS your main LCD will be back.

Re: Finding out what CPUs are already in UPDATE0.ROM...
just to save you some time: those are just microcode updates. i really don't know why someone thought it would be a clever idea to let the bios load them, since any modern OS will load them anyway (yes, even Windows)! another important information: microcode updates have nothing to do with the CPU d...
