Iwill KA266

Iwill is gone and I'm unable to find KA266 manual anywhere. Found some BIOSes, but no manual.

Getting BIOS image from Fujitsu-Siemens .ocf files?

I have Fujitsu-Siemens D1214 board that seems to have a BIOS problem. There is recovery mode but it does not work - as I probably don't have proper BIOS rescue disk (and haven't found how to create one). The BIOS update disk from Fujitsu-Siemens contains flasher and some .ocf and .omf files. But I n...

Check the board if there aren't bulged capacitors around the CPU.

This crap is unfortunately in many new BIOSes. These "very cool" features actually prevents the boards from being used in any serious applications :x

08611 is trackpoint failure. Check the connections. You'll probably have to replace it (it comes with the keyboard, I think).

Even if bad PSU fries everything in the machine, the CPU and memory usually survive because they're not powered directly by the PSU but by a voltage regulator on the board.

That should be a MOSFET. They're probably part of CPU power circuit - replace it with the same part. USB power is another problem - there should be fuse (usually marked F1 or FS1 on the PCB) somewhere near the USB connector which might be blown.

Check the memory. Also check if the capacitors on the board aren't bulging. It might be also bad PSU (often bulged capacitors inside...).

These boards often die because of bulging capacitors, often shorting the MOSFETs and damaging the CPU. So check them.

If the card has 2 cut-outs in the AGP connector, it should work with all boards. Not-compatible card will not fry because it will not fit the AGP port.
