Hello,
I had exactly the same problem with the same board and an AMI bios. I used the Award 1.6 and the AMI flash..everything worked fine. New HDD recoognized.

Problem solved. Thanks very, very much EDWIN for your help. I cross flashed the AWARD 1.6 bios into my AMI bios as use suggested using the AMI flsah utility and it's working fine. Problem solved. I flashed the Award 1.6 and using the AMI flash utility and everything worked great. Again thanks for the help. Still don't know why the extracted file was not a .bin type but it is working fine.

Hi, From some earlier help it was determined that the Award version 1.6 upgrade would solve my HDD ( 32 gig limit ) problems. I ran your utility wizard to look at the bios but the OEM info was blank. However, on the motherboard itself was ver 1.0 BX... Is that what you meant?

Hello, I am trying to install a new HDD on my PC but my bios won't recongnize anything over 32 gig. I would like to update ( flash ) my bios but can't identify my motherboard. The MB # is MS 6156 Ver 1.0 BX by Microstar and my bios is AMI # 9130n290446201va ( this was under the sticky on the chip )....
