Hi No it´s not the P54C, (I own one). Anyway it´s pretty close, so we are in Fugutech Country. Guess UMC is correct. Most probably the same chipset as here: http://de.shuttle.com/539.htm What´s the problem? Socket 5 don´t have much to configure. Bus speed, multi 1.5 or 2x (sometimes only), cache siz...

Hi

How many chips per side are on your memory modules?

IIRC 256 MByte modules do need 16chips (16x8 organized).

Hi

If your bioschip sticks in a socket: Have it reflashed externally

If not, buy a new board, because having it repaired is usually more expensive.
If you are thinking about desoldering the chip yourself, you'll will need professional equippment for that.

Hi

5V chips (29C series) usually don´t use Pin 1 (Vpp) at all.
They generate what they need from Vcc.
This is true for Atmel, Winbond, ASD and SST chips.

If you can figure out the chip manufacturer (or post the inscriptions on the chip here) download the datasheet and confirm.

Hi

Ok, you already have the latest Bios there.

Does the OS see all 80GB or also only 32?
What OS do you have there?
If the OS also sees 32 GB, please make sure, that the 80GB drive doesn't have any 32GB clipping jumper set.

Tried the 80GB drive on it's own?

Hi We are talking about ordinary PC Hardware here. There were simply were no dual boards in the 486 class. The first Dual stuff for street market appeared with the Pentium, when intel built the basics for dual CPU support into the CPU. Bye Thomas PS.: We had some Siemens MX500is at work, and yes, th...

Hi vi found "Microsoft Powerpoint" within the document. The XP version of PPT cannot read it, but there were several breaks in the ppt document format. Maybe an older viewer can handlie that. If that doesn't work either, vi makes the text quite readable, so one can get at least the jumper settings f...

Hi There are no dual boards in the 486 class. What you have there is a socket for a 487 numbercruncher when using a 486SX. Forget about all that. So, only if you have a 486SX installed, get a 2nd Hand 486DX and install it into the socket, where the 486SX resides. You need to move 1 or 2 jumpers for ...

Hi Proggie received & tested. Works as it should. :-) Regarding the Winbond issue: I have three ASD 2MBit chips here, loaded with the 2k1222S Bios for either the M599LMR or M598LMR (cannot remember). The Bios seems to activate some sort of write protection and cannot handle the chip anymore. Result:...

Uniflash: 1 Problem, 1 Question

Hi Problem: Just tried uniflash in flash pc and ran into the message "PCI bus not found". This is ok, as there is none, but I am trying to use my CT-flasher and this message also appears with "uniflash -ctflash xxx". As the CT-flasher is a true ISA card, this does not make much sense to me. Question...

Hi

AF2, Batmans Revenge. Bios limit is 2GB, more results in hanging, just what you have experienced

Solutions:
1. Different OS like Linux, W2K, XP (maybe NT4)
2. Add-On PCI Card.
3. New Mobo/CPU/Ram

No, you cannot unlock those features, but IIRC you can alter the settings for those hidden features in the CMOS, just as if those features were unlocked.
