Dr. Morg, I looked at the Linux device driver module brokencase did for the L2 cache enable (see earlier posting - this thread). It should be pretty easy to port that code to the DOS and Windows drivers. That's great! Can you do it yourself and upload to yuor site? To be effective it would also nee...

Re: deep sleep util src...

I thought you wanted to do the deepsleep transition at processor ring 0? The 2K/XP application runs in protected mode, and the piix4.sys driver does exactly what the DOS version does. The code to do the deepsleep transition is the same in all the versions. The only difference is how the PIIX4 is lo...

Re: deep sleep util src...

brokencase, I've added the source files for the DOS/Win3x/Win9x versions to the download page http://home.pacbell.net/wmarcusm/deepsleep/ Most of the code is either devoted to finding the correct PCI device (pxii4x), of computing the CPU frequency. The code that sets up the deepsleep transition is ...

Dr. Morg, If you are running NT/2K/XP, then install the 2K/XP version. The DOS version will only run correctly on an OS prior to winNT (DOS/3x/9x/ME). The autoexec feature in NT/2K/XP only provides backward compatability for non real mode applications (those that do not touch hardware). Whether is ...

Need to find a dead 600/600E/600X board with an Intel 28F004 bios-EEPROM. Intel chip has longer pins, so it can be soldered piggybacking the original EEPROM as Sebi suggested. I have received a new mother board for my TP600E last week! Now, I have 2645-4AU Mother Board in my TP. Also, I have an old...

Dr. Morg: The file you posted is only an excerpt from the bios code. The bios is 512kb in size, not just 64kb. How did the tool create the file? There are parts of the bios code in the file, but not in the same order as they appear in the bios file. I've just upload !BIOS utility, also, BIOSDETCT u...

Sharedoc, the 2nd 28f004 comes from an almost dead 600e board, so it should be fine. Maybe the chip has been damaged upon desoldering or soldering to the board. I´ll try to get another chip and try again. What about your backup eeprom ? Did it work? Anybody else? Would be great to have a testing bo...
