power on LED is red from power on

well I tried a newer hard drive and the power on LED has not changed from red . I keep checking the board jumpers and cables and I'm pretty sure they are ok . I'm stumped now . Maybe this is why the board got chucked eh ! The PSU is good , I tested it with a voltmeter , just a 12V rail , but it's 12...

correct bios upgrade ??

Can Award provide an update for the MEC Abit PH5 computer I have . I would love to have this computer going . I've been told on this Forum the only suitable update for the bios is the ph5-e0.bin which is intended for the Abit PH5 v1.3 motherboard . The problem is the manufacturer MEC does not provid...

edited : choosing a bios

the board I have the PH5(0705C) v1.4 manufactured by MEC (gone) is practically identical to the Abit PH5 board so I am fairly confident inclusive of my ignorance of this computer , that the ph5e0.exe is an available update that is possibly suitable at this stage . still , I am trying to use a faulty...

whichever bios is in the system did not let me much over 4gig . I've tried flashing with the Bios but I'm not sure what to name the files at the flash prompts . I think I should be trying awdflashph5e0 at the prompt but the power led is red all the time and I do not know why yet . no worries now , I...

IR jumper

seeing as I posted this and did not make much sense with it I thought I could tidy it up a wee bit . I posted : what is IR for on the PH5 v1.4 board ? well I was asking about the IR pins on the motherboard and I guess now they are for a jumper to set the InfaRed capability of the motherboard . How I...
