Looks like this is a HP Vectra VE 6xxx Series 7 or 8. I assume the latest BIOS is already installed? In any case this is not (only) a case of missing microcode, the CPU detection routine doesn't know the PIII either. According to what I found, some people have bought BIOSes from eSupport and apparently had nothing to complain about in terms of service. But is there really no MPS version control available in this AMIBIOS? Changing this setting would be cheaper ...

As far as I'm aware AMI BIOSes are not patchable. However, there seems to be a newer BIOS, 1.16m:

Welcome to the club, I'd say :). That code 35 issue is caused by a missing MPS table entry, according to an MSKB article.
