The condition you are experiencing can be caused by trying to operate a cpu at an incorrect front side buss speed--what is your cpu, fsb, and mulitiplier? Also, what is the name of your bios program? M003NL47, or something else?

I believe you have a "Creative" M003 motherboard, that was manufactured by Shuttle--try that bios upgrade, and see what happens.

Look up bios savior on the internet--cost is $20 to $25--its well worth the money.

I am not asking about a tea leaf reading to predict the future, but only a program to specify what the bios contains. usually the manual for motherboards is most accurate at the time of issue. As faster cpu's(as an example) become available, bios's are updated to ...

many of the problems stated in forums are the result of bios unknowns, ie: hdd size supported, cpu types/speeds supported, etc. I am surprised no one has created a program that identifies the bios on board code with a human interface that translates bios capabilities into a readable form. I have a bios that will auto detect "46" types of hard drives. Since this bios has the 32 gig limitation, I assume type 46 is equal to 30 gigs in round numbers.
