Hi It was located beside the PCI-E video slot On the underside of the mobo it was located beside a test point for the FWH clock. At this stage, I suspect I have a clock synthesis issue. No clock gen - dead board. Of course, I concur a bad cap may suggest a number of subsequent problems. Any views or...

Tiny Computers 5-3500 (OEM FIC P4M-915G/PD1)

This board does not want to start! This appears to be a Tiny 5-3500 which is, so I understand, an OEM FIC P4M-915G/PD1. A silk screen decal on the board denotes it to be so. I believe it to be Intel Grantsdale Dynasty P4M-915G/PD1 based. There are further labels which detail, LAN MAC - 00 40 CA 87 2...

Hi A further update. The mobo I have in my possession has a BIOS TBL jumper as well as a TBD jumper. The first is a three-pin and is currently jumpered as 1-2. The other is merely a 2-pin jumper and is closed. I do not know what these are and the ECS manual for the board does not refer to them at al...

Extracting BIOS details from binary images

Hi I'm getting fed up trying to establish the provenance of BIOSes of motherboards I receive dead. For instance, if there were or is a utility to tell me the OEM sign-on and BIOS ID details - this would be a great help. Anybody know if such a thing is out there? I would of course simply seek to get ...

To follow up so to speak, I have searched the list at KURIAKI BIOS for Acers but cannot find a match I got a quick revision of acpidump here; see http://leaf.dragonflybsd.org/cgi/web-man?section=8&command=acpidump Having put the old, original BIOS back in the board and powered up, it, that is the bo...

Thanks for that I have resweated the caps on the board and can get the CPU to spin up. Also, I found two bad pins on the s775 and very gently tried to get these back into profile. Using my POST card, I believe I get a CPU reset at boot but the BIOS will not load. Correct me if wrong but the LED on t...

Intel 915PBL motherboard

Perhaps I am in the wrong forum? Apologies I have what appears to be an Intel 915PBL motherboard I have got this working, at least that is, its posting ok. Q - Does this mobo support dual-core Pentium IVs? It is posting with a SL7Z9 3.0 Ghz HT FSB 800 2MB CPU. Whereas the official Intel CPU support ...

D - thx I found adjacent to CPU2 a small capacitor which slightly elevated the HSF by just enough to probably be indicative of the temp differential. In fact, given the location of this cap, it is bad design. I anticipate I have not damaged the cap but may in any event, substitute it for an equivale...

Got this mobo flashed with a bootable bios flash CD-R

I believe the problem resides with a requirement the FDD
is a 3 mode device and both the FDDs I have tried are unsuitable.

I consider this issue closed

Have a problem updating the BIOS to most recent i.e. B10 First, the board required a cmos clear to identify the diskette. But the bios update diskette is not recognised at boot. Operating system not found Changed the boot order to take account of diskette drive first. The diskette will seek at POST ...

Gigabyte GA-6VXDC7 v1.0 Mobo

I have a matched pair of 1000/256/133 coppermines in this board. The most up to date BIOS has been patched, v F7B When I enter the BIOS and review the CPU temperatures, CPU 1 at 39 degrees C and CPU 2 at 51 degrees C. Both the fans spin at approx. 5200 rpm - so states the BIOS. Is the reading for CP...
