My original idea was that you could remove the password by resetting the CMOS. Then I remembered that it was a laptop. So I did a bit of Googling, and I found http://www.pwcrack.com/bios.shtml. If you have access to another laptop, you can stick your disk in there and the password will be gone.

How about giving us more details about your case? Are you planning to update your BIOS and need to make sure that you can recover it if it fails and goes to bootblock BIOS? If so, then you don't need a video card to flash when in the bootblock BIOS. The BIOS will complain, but it will still boot a f...

Ouch. You fried your BIOS. Not literally, but now the bootblock doesn't even work. I had the same experience. For the serial to PS/2 adapter to work you need a mouse that supports both protocols, and obviously yours only knows PS/2. As for the BIOS, you can't flash it while Windows is running because Windows "locks" the PCI bus. More knowledgable people can explaing what exactly that means, I just don't kno...
