Note to self: never get into techy stuff when tired. It'll lead to more embarrassment then you can handle.

Since I was browsing through this forum, I though I'd make sure that pure ISA floppy controllers should work where multi I/O controllers work right?

Depends on what flash utility you use. It's somthing like <flash utility executable> <parameters to flash without user input> <filename>.

My original idea was that you could remove the password by resetting the CMOS. Then I remembered that it was a laptop. So I did a bit of Googling, and I found http://www.pwcrack.com/bios.shtml. If you have access to another laptop, you can stick your disk in there and the password will be gone.

If so, then you don't need a video card to flash when in the bootblock BIOS. The BIOS will complain, but it will still boot a f...

Ouch. You fried your BIOS. Not literally, but now the bootblock doesn't even work. I had the same experience. Here are a few links on hot-flashing, what I used to recover my BIOS: http://www.rojakpot.com/default.aspx?location=3&var1=62&var2=0 http://www.cybertechhelp.com/html/tutorials/tutorial.php/...

I was at a LAN party recently and a guy's computer was giving similar error messages while he was installing Windows. I don't remember what they were exactly, but all those hexadecimal addresses prompted me to pull out a stick of RAM thinking that it might be defective. I pulled out one, and it froz...
