Flashed with "new" bios from edwin, results are excellent recognised 40GB drive no problem.

Try www.jumpers.150m.com there are a lot of socket 3 and 5 486 boards there with settings.

Is there an update bios for EXP8661 motherboards to accomodate large drives and CPU identification.

The above Asus board does not recognised the Winchip cpu. Can anyone advise solution. Try latest bios also does not recognise.

Just received an old motherboard GCT 6IV. GCT no longer available, tried Google etc. Any suggestions for bios update.

I found the jumper, booted with jumper on then took jumper off and rebooted again. When rebooted same effect, nothing at all. I have a second Amptron PM-8500 with a non functioning battery, if I took the bios chip off that and placed it on the dead board would that be a solution?
