You are trying to use a 120MHz Cyrix CPU so you should use the settings for 60 MHz, 2x. If I read your bad spelling correctly: 1. If you attach the PSU to the motherboard and fan, the fan does not rotate when the PSU is switched on. 2. If you remove the PSU connection from the motherboard and switch...

Jan
Is this fix a simple "patch these bytes" fix likely to work on many Award bioses or is it a case of
[voice="No5"]disassemble/reassemble[/voice] ?
Are you happy to post the details, or are they your commercial secret ?

2. I wait as long as the system reads From the floppy disk(ca. 15 sec.). Further, I use the command with a /R which means that normally the system should reset after flashing. ut it doesn't! After the disc access stops, you should allow two or three minutes for the actual flash operation. It doesn'...

1. Sorry if this sounds stupid, but following a recent question to the board I must ask - is your AWDFLASH program actually called AWDFLASH.EXE ? :? and is it the right version for your BIOS ? 2. Another stupid question: are you leaving enough time for the flash to work after it finshes loading from...

In other words I cannot just delete the unallocated partition.
Well, you can't delete what's not allocated. You should be able to create a partition in that unallocated space; then format it.

If the name of your flash program is "awdfl779.exe" then your command line will be
"awdfl779 v370at13.bin"
as you are trying to run the flash program. In DOS mode, to run a program, you must use the name of the program.

If you can enter setup using the DEL key, I don't think the CMOS setup programs will help. If you have type 47 available, I am surprised there is no way to to define its values. I will look for more info, and I will check what BIOS my 386SX has. On the turbo mode, is there no option to set the start...

From the picture, yours is a fairly late 286 with an AMI BIOS. Does it allow you to get into the BIOS from the keyboard, or have you found the disc types by dumping the BIOS or using a utility ?

Congratulations, Ondrej. There are not many of us who still have equipment that old! My IBM PC-AT requires a CMOS configuration program called "SETUP.COM". You could look at http://www.simtel.net/pub/pd/50213.html , which claims to do CMOS setup for 286/386, although I have not tried this particular...

My guess would be the settings are not setup properly in the BIOS. I simple IDE Detection would clear your hard drive woes. What kind of motherboard are you looking at? Most have a clear CMOS jumper on the motherboard. It would clear the password and all settings in the BIOS. As this is a Fujitsu P...

Taken from Microsoft's support Knowledge Base Computer Randomly Plays Classical Music (Q261186) "During normal operation or in Safe mode, your computer may play "Fur Elise" or "It's a Small, Small World" seemingly at random. This is an indication sent to the PC speaker from the computer's BIOS that ...

Hotflash; basically, remove the existing ROM from a working system and put your dead one in it. With the power on. You should find some guidelines somewhere, but what I do is; 1. observe electrostatic safety guidelines to prevent static damage to your PC. Basically keep touching the metalwork and av...
