Yes. It could be something like 29F010 to 29F040. However, the BIOS may instead be included in something like a Intel i82802 Firmware Hub (FWH) device which provides 4Mbits for firmware.

@Edwin: That's a bit odd. The cpucode module is shown as larger than in my example and yet has no entries?
I see the source file is called cpucode.exe instead of cpucode.bin - any significance, do you think?

If your board is a 7ATA, that link should be suitable for your board. The fact that the date code at the start of the string is slightly different to the other post is not significant in this case. Remember, flashing a BIOS always involves a slight risk. Do you need to do this?

I compared the diagram with a picture that I found on Google which showed a chip with a familiar-looking label on it - I don't know about cp. Different motherboards have different size, shape, type and placement of the BIOS chip but they usually have a label.

The EEPROM contains the system BIOS, but if you have (fdor example) a Hitachi H8 as a KBC, that is often reprogrammable with its own firmware too. That firmware may be included in the manufacturer's BIOS flash package. IIRC, you'll also find in the Notebooks section a couple of sticky messages warni...

In the diagram you link to, the BIOS chip is next to the WOL connector (23) and has a label on it probably saying something about American Megatrends Inc. or AMI. You might ask an electronics/computer repair shop to re-flash your existing ROM, giving them the BIOS file, or you might buy one from one...

I finally updated my bios withs nicks patch. Well done! HP .... have been getting alot problems from users usiing 3rd party software such as nicks and not to trust them at all. Sure, you gamble every time you flash a BIOS, but the rewards usually outweigh the risks. I'd like to know who's been havi...

My question now becomes how do I find out what is available to the system natively in the BIOS...from the "mu" items I initially listed...so I know what CPU's are supported there? By running CBROM, if it's an Award BIOS. Example: D:\Hardware\Gigabyte>cbrom205 6wmm7f6.bin /d CBROM V2.05 (C)Award Sof...

Did you flash the BIOS just before this happened? Some laptop BIOSes include a keyboard controller BIOS and the keyboard controller is often also used for power control.

Re: HP USB ports. HELP

I have a HP pavilion a210n and the front usb ports have been working fine since i ever bought it. Then two months later, the front USB ports stopped working suddenly. I have checked the cables in my computer and they all seem to be connected but just to be sure i gave it a light push. What could be...
