thank you for your reply,but there it's a problem...i do not know which is the jumper for setting the multiplier.My manual it's incomplete and the explanation of each jumper it's not listed.

hi my abit ph5 board doesn't seems to recognize the 233 cpu mmx it tells me that it's a pentium s cpu at 200 mhz.I just flashed the bios with the latest bios release found at abit www site but still the same.Bios date now it's 1996 and version 4.51 pg .What action should i take in order to clear thi...

Hi O.K. thanks for the info! This should eliminate the bios from beign faulty since the 12 V do not erase it.It means that the board it's damaged somehow somewhere if itt doesn't initialize.I posted something on this on the 'my motherboard it's dead' if you want to take a look and ask me everythin y...

hi thank you for the info and sorry for replying so late but just an hour ago i managed to restore my system from a weird MB failure i guess.
It restarted and the screen remained blank!I put the proc in another MB and it runs .Well i switched to another MB and everything it's fine right now :D

well i tryed in a MSI 5184 ,a M539,a M558 and in it;s original mainboard from a 486 based computer.i do not know any details about the 486 mainboard but i would like to find, so please can you tell me a good site for retreiving info on 486's????????mainboards.... the single series number or serial that i found it's 9746
It is located right near the power connectors on the backside of the MBand o n the last ISA slot it's this serial no. MM7B119512
And this is all i could find.

Yes i understand, but the vpp pin it's not internally disconnected since i was able to flash it into an another board a Pcchips M539 at a voltage of 5V.My question ist's if this 12V on the vpp pin could erase the data in the chip?????????

Sorry but i do not know what PCB stands for.If you can tell me i am sure that i'll be able to tell you the PCB.
But isn't out there any award bios for this board and this chipset(VX Pro2) which supports the HDD's up to 128???
I will try the links also,in fact i am already trying them:)

Jumper for Voltage?????

Hello
I have a MSI 5184 ver1! How do i change the voltage from 12 V on the VPP pin to 5V????is there a jumper or something?in the manual it doesn't say anything about this!!!!

This is an Ami bios and the MB it's M558 PcChips.I would like to know if there is a patched bios for support on HDD's with more than 8GB.I searched the tested bios page on rainbow's page but i was unable to find one.
