I had one Winbond W29C020 and I had smilar (or same?) problems with bootblock. I think that it was write protected, but now it looks more like some other problem.
I will buy some boards (SiS630&VIA694-based) this week to do some UniFlash testing. Maybe one of them will have W29C020 chip...

Seems that the BIOS does not have correct Microcode update for your CPU. Maybe inserting one (using CBROM) from another Asus motherboard (such as P2B) will fix that (or it will kill the board, requiring to hot-flash the BIOS).

I think that ASD AE29F2008 should be detected as Winbond W29C020. Have you tried it?

Looks like LuckyStar 6ALX2 board - there are two versions of this board - one is jumperless and the other with jumpers (or switches?) for selecting the CPU frequency. I think that your board is jumperless and either you should set CPU frequency in BIOS or the BIOS is not correct for your board (if t...

You have the latest version but it's pretty old for Windows XP. Seems that they don't support this board anymore. Try to contact MSI technical support.

I would buy the BIOS but only alone, not in any kit. I don't want their adapter nor CPU from them. I can buy CPU myself with original Intel heatsink&fan and cut&connect some pins to make it working on BX. The only thing I need is the BIOS - it's cheap from them comparing to Uni****, but I don't thin...

You will not find anything on Intel site because it's Atrend ATC-1000 motherboard. There are more versions of this board - R1, R2, R3 and R4. You need to determine your board version and BIOS at ftp://ftp.atrend.com.tw/Bios/Motherboard/Other/ATC-1000 There is one BIOS that is not on Atrend's site: "...

According to FIC page at http://www.fic.com.tw/techsupport/faq/f ... &cw33+.htm, this board supports only PPGA CPUs - this means that Celerons upto 533MHz should work (not 533A!)

You should have bootable floppy with new BIOS and flasher. Create autoexec.bat file that will run the flasher automatically (f199.exe 860_132.1). If it asks for confirmation, you will have to confirm (without seeing anything on the screen).

...with only a little problem - the link is VERY old and points to non-existing Atrend site...
MS Word version is at Atrend's FTP ftp://ftp.atrend.com.tw/Manuals/Motherb ... 0/1000.ZIP
