Check if the CD-ROM drive has jumpers - maybe it's possible to configure it as master.

Does all machines have the same VGA cards? IIRC, some VGA BIOSes are larger, using not only C000-C7FF, but C000-CFFF region. Try changing the base address to D000.

If it's Phoenix BIOS, try Ctrl+Alt+ESC or Ctrl+Alt+S.
The Compaq system probably reequires "F10 Utility" to be installed on the HDD (should be available on Compaq site), then use F10 to enter it.

You need a bootable floppy. Maybe the system files are corrupted or deleted.

Re: My BIOS is screwed!!!

I have a NF7-S V2. Upon reboot yesterday it stopped at the "bootblock bios" and asked for a floppy with awdflash. Finally figured out I needed awdflash 7.90 and created boot floppy with Dr.Flash awdflash790 and the bios (nf7d_27.bin). "Unknown File Type" is the error message I get from that. This i...

The BIOS seems to be Phoenix - http://www.motioncomputing.com/support/ ... d_1200.asp
Maybe try to open it using Phoenix BIOS editor (demo), get i830 VGA BIOS somewhere and replace it.

This is normal on these notebooks. The built-in CD-ROM is connected to the same IDE channel as internal HDD.

That's really weird - it should work fine with any CR2032.

Chaintech 6OJA3T - problems with Tualatin

I have 3 Chaintech 6OJA3T boards and they're all doing the same thing: They work fine with Coppermine CPUs (tested with Celeron 600) without any problems. With Tualatin, they seem to work fine. But they often hang after reboot (either soft or hard). Then RESET button does not help and even soft-off....

I even have a Winbond W27C257 - it can be electrically erased too... Until you see the datasheet, you can't be sure.

28F2000T is supported and tested. These chips need 12V for programming. Maybe there's a jumper on the board to switch VPP between 5V and 12V.

No, you can't. Voltage is controlled by VID pins of the CPU connected to onboard voltage regulator.
