There were 2 revisions of that system with slightly different boards. One goes to 800 and the other goes to 1ghz. Try the latest bios and if it still doesn't work, go for an 800.

tried them all

(already checked those) I mentioned the omegacorner drivers to him but he didn't want to use them. Rage3d had no bios either.

However I finally found a radeon VE bios on a russian site that worked.

So he's back to normal now.

Thanks

Need a Radeon 7000 v-bios

I was helping out a guy who didn't like the dos fonts of his Radeon 7000 card because they looked wierd compared to his previous video card. So I located an HP Radeon 7000 video bios that appeared to have different internal fonts according to Radedit so he flashed it into the card. Now Windows won't...

Using Phlash

So if you have Phlash, a platform.bin and a bios.rom

Can you just flash the bios.rom using Uniflash (in case you have to hot flash in another system) or is the bios.rom file encrypted?

Stonent Inspiron > Latitude How-to

I wrote a little how-to back a few months ago on how to add support for Latitude Docking stations which Dell has disabled support for in the Inspiron bios (Dell uses the same motherboard but different Bios)

Source for chips?

So what is the preferred source for spare flash chips? I'm in the US.

I bought a few dead motherbords for $1.50 each yesterday to harvest chips but they are all 128kb flash chips and I'd like to get some 512kb chips (they didn't have any) but I played around with hot flashing on an old motherboard :)

SST 49LF004A I just want to read that one and possibly hot flash it if it ever dies on me. Uniflash doesn't seem to support it. The file it backs up is mostly blank. The file I made with Amiflash had a lot of text in it that had error messages, easter eggs :) and other bios text. Oh ok. I just click...

thanks

Ok. Well that's good to know. Hopefully uniflash will get updated sometime and have some more chip support. The SST flash chip on my laptop has source code on the SST website on how to incorporate it into a flasher so I guess if anyone was good with C they could update uniflash to support more SST c...

AMI flash confusion

I downloaded the amiflash utility from the AMI site but it appears to be older than one I got from the Gigabyte site. The one on the AMI site was v827 and the version I got from Giga-Byte was v855 So where can I get the absolute latest version because I see ones in here being discussed that are olde...
