At least first one is OTP EPROM according to the datasheet. Adapter building instructions can be found here (in German).

LPC, FWH and hot-flashing

Does anyone have any experience flashing LPC chips on a board that has FWH interface (they seem to be quite hmm... similar) or vice versa? Will it work?

AFAIK VIA VT82C693 northbridge can address only up to 128Mbit SDRAM chips. So you need a 256-MB DIMM with 16 memory chips (8 on both side).

I guess the only motherboard schematics you can get freely are the ones of Intel reference boards...

BIOS patcher uses AMIBCP so I doubt there are any better tools avaliable for AMI. I have also read about a tool called amimm.exe but never used it.

I have used a sharp knife (or a razorblade) to remove flash chips that are soldered on the dead boards (that cannot be fixed anymore). No worries with overheating at all...

Looks like this Asus board (like most of them?) has some kind of flash chip write protection that Aflash is able to deactivate. For awdflash, there's (at least for some versions) /f option to disable the part number checking.

Did you try to use the -FORCE option of Uniflash?
Does Uniflash detect the 39SF020 chip on this Asus board correctly?

At least worked for me.

Chaintech 6VIA3 I guess. On Chaintech boards, there's a white sticker on the BIOS chip with the model number on it.
