You can either try and find that whole sub-board and replace it, or you can contact me and we'll reprogram your BIOS chip and remount it to ...

Hello,

at27c256r <~ this is probably your KBC ROM / Keyboard controller ROM (possibly your video BIOS)

at29c0c20 <~ this is your BIOS ROM

Are youin the USA or outside the USA? Is the BIOS ROM socketed or soldered to the board?

Also, you can check the situation by feeling the processor, if it gets hot when the power button is pushed, a BIOS replacement may fix it.

Hello, with the condition you are describing you most likely have a power problem rather than just a BIOS problem now.. The Sony Vaio line is known for these "power conditions" after a bad flash, and all the damage is done while the BIOS update is performing the KBC (keyboard) update. There is a sli...

Hello,

The BIOS link in Soupy's post is revision: RO216

have you tried this revision?

Be careful, if you have a password in place you may have problems with the BIOS update.

Hi, It's not vital to have that "save to disk" partition, but if you don't want to see that warning message at bootup everytime you'll need to create it. As Rainbow said, there may be a utility that you can download to create this partition and do away with the message. The "Save to disk" partition ...

If you have not tried that yet, create a bootdisk from ANY windows machine and remove everything on that disk except for command.com see if it boots from that disk? It seems to me that, if it does boot from that boot disk, this...

Were you given the option to "Backup" the old BIOS before flashing?

What is the solution the manufacturer is offering?

What model is this laptop? Did they just offer one model?
