hey fred, the "best" position is if the whole id is in it. The maximum length is eight bytes plus one decompress byte. In worst case plus 4 bytes to decompress, I've never seen this. I gave you 12 bytes to shift four bytewise. If that is to rough you can shift bytewise. I've never used this option. ...

@ Sebus, the 68YTT.BIN file looks like a "normaly" HP Compaq-Bios. There is no CRC32 cheksum in it. Or show me exactly where!! The checksum is a additive 4byte checksum. very simple... Use the "new" ADDCC. @ All my fellows, there is a "new" ADDCC - V2. Muha http://img268.imageshack.us/img268/377/add...

@mb_1986, my congratulations! @aviko, I dont know what exactly your problem or your question is!? Sure you can basically fix your checksum with an arbitrary Byte-String. But its not so clever, if you take a Byte-String that appears more than once in the uncompressed bios file. And its not so clever ...

hi drieg, the N620c looks like a new bios variation. There are three parts in this bios file. 1. only FF bytes 2. an uncompressed bios-part, I don't know why or for what... 3. the compressed bios-part I have found a very simple solution for you. - open the rom.bin with a hexeditor - search for the h...

hi, @ fa001 my congratulations! Could you please shoe me the exactly byte string that crashed the ADDCC? @ oddi in principle you have to add the whole checksum difference (68 04 80 DA) to your global file checksum. that means, - if one value is positiv , exactly this value is missing on this local v...

hi fa001, No and more's the pity. The nc8000 uses the 68BAR bios and this does not work with your posted method. Thats not true!! You are only inable! sorry, but this is only my opinion! the decompressor works smoothly. and you can find all your supported Device ID's on the HP site NC8000 Drivers Si...

ok Dink, I think I know your problem now. the first step is not called "find your running miniPCI card", but rather "find the whitelist"!! Its not proven that HP checks all bytes to verify the miniPCI Card. Which makes also sense then your drivers .inf file contained so much entries. So lets take a ...

Hey Felipe, yes you can! But you only can change it on this ID: E4 14 19 43 3C 10 58 13. There is no other ID for correct the checksum. But you can take a string you dont need in normal use. 20 42 6F 6F 74 57 61 6B = " BootWak" The decompressor dont work, cause they are diffrent headers in the bios....
