You could try to replace the bios with a custom chip.... But, I doubt that it would run stable in the 200mhz FSB range as the rest of the motherboard components are not geared for it. A good example would be AGP if has one or ever tht I/O controller and of course memory is key. As general rule we st...

Some of the associates of this forum are testing a mod that may work. But, at this stage it is a bit dangerous and is not someting the average PC User can do. I would go for a add in card... They can be had for les than $30 in sosme places - like the US. Look at www.pricewatch.com

Just what is it that you want to do? But, it doesn't really make a difference who made the motherboard as it is a cusom build to Compaq's specs and more than likely ONLY a Compaq bios upgrade will work. I worked for Dell and we went through the same thing. Some of the early Demension boards were pur...

I agree with Soupy... The only thing I can think of is that the drive may be set to UDMA 33 by default (Seagate does that - compatability reasons). If the board supports UDMA 66 or 100 and you have the correct cables then boot should show the what UDMA speed is being used.

Did you set your video to standard VGA and test it before deleting the old drivers, removing the old card and installing the new card? 1) set to std vga, reboot and test 2) uninstall the old video drivers, reboot and test 3) delete the card in the device manager (if it still there), reboot and test ...

Not much can be done without the floppy... You could try "hot flashing" (sEE THE FAQ'S). But I suspect that you have new small chip that takes aspecial chip puller and it maskes for some very tricky hot flashhing. Contact Bad Flash and see what it would cost for a preprogrammed chip.

Check the A-Open site to make sure what chips it supports and then go to a local shop or search the net to purchase a couple. Next you need to get the bios loaded.... You can hot swap and update the chips if you have a system that has a compatibale chip, get a local to program via eeprom programer o...

I have a BH6 Ver 1.0.... latest bios is SS and the Version 1.1 is SP. So, check to see which version you have. I beleive the version number is printed on the motherboard between the PCI/ISA slots. There have been reports of weird happenings when the wrong ver of the bios is installed. Many have trie...
