The cpu is correctly recognized as a PII 350.

Already done all of the above, except........I originally booted this board with a PII 233, but now have a PII 350 in it. I've been using any of three sticks of 32mb PC100, but maybe one of them is actually PC66. I'm going to put in a stick of PC133 and try again.

Soyo 6BA+, a used PII mobo. The board checked out okay but when I connected a floppy drive in hopes of flashing the bios it wouldn't boot from the floppy. Tried a hard drive with same result. The bios file you download from MSI contains, after unzipping:

------the bios file
------the flash utility
------a how-to text file

I need to flash the bios on an MSI K7T Pro ver. 1 motherboard but cannot find any info at the MSI website as to which Award flash utility I should use. The link to Award ver. 7 flashers on the utilities page of this website (Wim's) appears to be dead.

They're prob loving it -- haven't been downtown for a couple of days. I'd post the question at Hardware Central -- likely more traffic there and def. a lot of ECS users.

Look at the rev. no; check the ECS website: send ECS an e-mail.

There is no reason, nothing to be gained by going through each bios revision. Go directly to the latest version, unless there is a specific reason to use an earlier one. In any case go directly to the one you want. You are only making a lot more work for yourself and increasing the chance of a fatal...

Thanks, Edwin. That wasn't an exact match, but the website you linked me to had the exact match under "P54CE......" which shows up on the bios screen.

I need a manual or jumper settings (bios update, but that's really pushing my luck) for this board. Nothing for older boards like this socket 7 i430 VX board at Lucky Star's Taiwan website. The link to the Russian Lucky Star website appears to be dead. Any help would be appreciated.
