Re: LCD seems magnetized
uninstall all SIS drivers. even delete the current one. make sure to have the latest driver unpacked anywhere on your harddisk (not installed, yet). after uninstalling all incarnations of the SiS driver, reboot the machine and wait for it to come up again. it will start with the fallback vesa vga dr...

Re: 1366x768 not supported ??
i wonder why my monitor can't keep resolution ( my monitor detect only 102x768 ) it only detects 1024x768 because the SiS Windows driver SETS IT TO 1024x768! the driver scans the modelines from the bios and programs the vga sequencer accordingly. if there's no modeline for 1366x768 it simply uses t...

Re: 1366x768 not supported ??
1366x768 not supported ?? yes, not supported. at least with the current SiS Windows drivers and all known videobios versions. there are several ways out: 1. buy an add-on vga card without SiS chipset (disabling the onboard unit) 2. use Linux and its 3rd party drivers which support virtually any res...

did you check if it really is running 1440x900? can you post the video bios version (available from the SIS information panel in the display settings)

Re: need help for asus p4sp-mx vbios
So you just replaced video bios to newer one in 1006_patch? yes, that is exactly what we did (and still do on many other bioses). Where can I get this video bioses? there's no official way. we just hacked them out of other mainboard bioses that already had them included. if you are a large OEM you ...

Re: BIOS for ECS-M810DLU
i'm sure i had both hardware revisions of the 5.2 tested with the patched bios. but that was quite a while ago. so for the fun and for the pleasure i repatched both bioses again and uploaded them separately. find them on our download page (as usual). please note that there's a revision 8.0a, too. if...

Re: ECS 865G-M8 mobo & Phoenix Tech 6.0PG bios
sounds more like something else like: bad RAM (use memtest86. it comes with every good linux distribution for free), poor power supply (buy something 80+ at least), blown capacitors or overheating components (cpu, gpu, northbrigde?). while you're testing the memory with memtest86: boot the linux dis...

Re: ASUS NCCH-DL BIOS Modification to support Xeon MP "Tulsa
actually i won't stop you from fiddling around a bit more but microcodes have nothing to do with processor recognition. microcodes are just processor 'updates' (they fix (RARE) issues but neither amd nor intel publish what they exactly do). the mircocode updates are loaded by the OS anyway (windows ...

i'll refer to your experiences whenever someone claims that he still needs Windows 98 :)
good to know that an old system plays nice with newer hardware once you get around the BIOS itself.

patched and available from our download site. i will not create anything except patched BIOS-binaries, so don't bother asking for a flash-cd/-disk/-stick/-image/-whatever. use a recent amiflash to update the bios.
please report back with the results.

Make sure to install at least SP2 for Windows XP or SP4 for Windows 2000. LargeDiskSupport, as it is called by Microsoft, will then be enabled by default.

Re: Mitac 5114VU
just like Denniss already stated: the VIA MVP4 supports at max. 128Mbit (not Byte) memory chips which limits the size of supported modules to 256MByte. to the extend it only supports 16MxN chips which is the same limitation that the i440BX chipset has. so the same rules as described here apply. nice...
