BX2-C.BIN seems to be the correct update for the V1.4 motherboard.
Its BIOS string is:
03/03/1999-I440BX-W977TF-2A69KSH9C-00
INTEL 440BX2 REV:C

You can download it from: http://www.wimsbios.com/~ajzchips/download/

I'd try again with another downloaded copy of the Nvidia 4.x flasher. Your copy might be corrupt.

Some 1.44MB FDDs have some semi-hidden jumpers at the back which, when properly set, will force the FDD to be recognized (and function) as 720KB FDDs. Strange, but true. I've managed to do this on an old Panasonic FDD a couple of years ago.

Regarding Rainbow's 720KB advice... which is 100% true, of course, I must add that I've detected some old BIOSes (1996 or so), whose bootblock would support FDD's of 720KB, and not just the 720KB diskette.

Good. That read-only issue usually solves over 70% of the "File not found" error reported by many flashers.

BTW, I've noticed several times that the flasher itself won't work properly if it's read-only attribute is set.

The latest update will eliminate your chances of using the 75MHz FSB on that board. So, if you're not going to use HDDs over 8GB in size, I'd think about it.

Check whether the BIOS update has the read-only attribute enabled. If so, disable it.

I have absolutely nothing on that board, nor manufacturer.
I do remember seeing that mobo's model posted at some other forum, though (perhaps the old Jive2 forum).
There's absolutely zilch on that board in the www.

The latest version for your board is of 21/5/1999... newer than the one you mentioned at the start of this thread.

Make sure you do have a V50 (or V5x) M747. You can check this near the keyboard connector, on the motherboard.
