Re: Gateway 2000 4DX2-66V - Bios Update
We need to try and find out what board is inside. This typenumber comes as big tower or mini tower. Most likely there's a JX30 board or an Intel Classic R board in there. Current bios info and/or a clear picture of the motherboard itself would help a lot.

Re: MOBO intel al440lx with Matrox G400
You do NOT have an Intel AL440LX. You have a board made by DTK and they used an Intel chipset.
Most likely the model is PRM-0076I E0 as that is the only one with an SMC multi I/O chip.
It has an AGP 2x slot that should be compatible with that Matrox card.

What brand/model harddisk are you using, what firmware release is it and what kind of brand/model cable are you using?

Re: Bricked Laptop aopen 1557/MS2141
I have a question. You did desolder the bios chip and put the same chip back? What if the external flash tool was right about the red sections being bad and in fact the bios chip hardware is broken? I would try to flash another chip of the same type and put that in.

Re: Updating Samsung NP3530EC Laptop bios.
What do you mean with the previous version? The P09RAP 1/11/2013 version? That should be safe to use as far as I am concerned because it was made for it. As for getting the boot menu, I am still trying to find out if that is some "hidden" option, some bioses have advanced options that are only visib...

Re: Updating Samsung NP3530EC Laptop bios.
What exactly do you mean with no boot menu? If you power on the laptop it is not showing anything? Because that means some part of the hardware is not cooperating, a bios upgrade is not going to help there. I would say, try and replace the bios backup battery first before starting to flash the bios.

Re: 64GB: 05/09/97-i430HX-2A59FD4HC-00
It looks like this one fell between the grid. Are you still interested in a patched bios? If so, what is the actual revision of your board? It should be visible printed on the board itself. For instance Rev D or Rev. DA

Re: Fastfame 650BX - latest and impossible to find BIOS
I have checked the Fastfame, Jamicon/Kaimei and Amptron folders. Nothing there but 1.30, 1.32 and 1.40 I am pretty sure that 1.50 rev does exist but I cannot find any reference to it online anywhere anymore. Do you remember where you saw this mentioned? It looks like that is the only lead we have at...
