Re: GIgabyte g1 guerilla 3tb+ support broken in official bios
Reset the bios to defaults before and after the bios update. That usually takes care of anything left behind in the DMI pool data area. You have tried both disks separately? You are sure not one of them is dead by itself?

Re: Need MS-5108 BIOS
This is fantastic! I'm not sure what harddisks you tried to run on this thing, they might be too big or unformatted or whatever. It is possible the IDE controller was fried somewhat because of the misplacement of the chips here and there. One big question though, could you please send the bios to ei...

Re: Motherboard Soyo SY-7SBB dead
You want to check if the memory is seated properly all the way into the slot and/or if there is any debris/dust in the memory slot.
Bios: from the soyousa server as attachment.

Re: 80Gb Hitachi Deskstar with SOYO SY-6BB
It looks like the 7SBB has been tested and works with a Maxtor 60GB. It is patched until 128GB, usually if it is beyond 32GB and working with 128GB patch, until 120GB disks work too.

Re: 80Gb Hitachi Deskstar with SOYO SY-6BB
Ok, so just putting the 32GB clipping jumper on and NO jumper for master/slave (setting it for single drive only) is not working either? That is indeed odd behaviour. Let me see if I can find similar cases and a possible solution.

Most likely your mainboard is marked: H55MS4G8-D3 Brand of Azirox and eSonic have been mentioned. None of which have a website. In some places it is claimed it is an OEM board made by Biostar, however I cannot find any proof of that. The only mention of a bios backup is here: https://translate.googl...

Re: 80Gb Hitachi Deskstar with SOYO SY-6BB
I checked and the bios backup you gave is binary identical to the one I patched. What I am going to do is using a different patcher for the bios. Oh one more notice, I know WD harddisks do not like to be set for master if there is no slave disk, they will search almost forever before allowing the sy...

Re: 80Gb Hitachi Deskstar with SOYO SY-6BB
Hi,
The bios we have is for the V1.0 revision of the board. You most likely have a newer release for which you need 1a7 or 1a8 instead of 1a6. I will patch 1a8 and attach it to my next posting.

Hi,
It took some searching, but version 1.40 was the last bios release ever for this laptop. Start here, select:
Satellite Pro
C50-A
1E5
It will list all available updates for your laptop.

Re: Need MS-5108 BIOS
This indeed is starting to sound like more trouble than its worth. There's no way of telling if the BIOS chip and the keyboard controller chip are indeed the right ones without seeing a proper functioning MS-5108. So, that will be the next target then, finding someone that actually owns a working va...
