This is the most the compaq technicians will know about your particular laptop. Perhaps an ASC may know how to fix this problem, but they probably end up just replacing the mobo.

What would have helped from the start is if it was mentioned that this is a laptop computer. These boards are propriatary so finding the original manufacturer is slim.
